10 years of EFICIA: A decade of success

Paris, November 2023 – EFICIA, France's leading 360° GreenTech company dedicated to accelerating the energy transition of commercial buildings, is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Since its creation in 2013, the company is proud to have driven huge progress in building energy management in France and Europe, contributing to energy savings equivalent to the annual consumption of a city of more than 314,000 inhabitants (700GWh), which is more than a city like Montpellier, and prevented the emission of nearly 55,000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere.

EFICIA: from an entrepreneur's vision to UN recognition

EFICIA is the story of a pioneering company that has conquered the energy management market over the last decade by successfully combining responsibility, sustainability and performance. In 2013, its founder, Alric Marc, launched the ECO GTB project with a clear and committed ambition: to support large companies' property portfolios in their energy transition.

In 2014, still at the forefront of innovation, the company revolutionised the sector by rolling out a remote energy management solution that operates 24/7, consolidating its position as a key player in smart buildings. In 2016, EFICIA continued its mission by raising more than €2 million in funding, fuelling its growth and expansion plan in Spain and Italy.

In 2022, EFICIA's commitment to the fight against climate change was recognised for the third consecutive year with the UN's ‘Climate Neutral Now’ label. Keen to multiply its positive impact in France and Europe, the company then made a free solution available, with no underlying business model, to offer companies, regardless of their means, an intuitive and accessible online energy monitoring tool. A first on the energy market!

Now with a team of 140 experts in France and abroad, EFICIA has enjoyed steady and sustainable growth since its inception. The company currently manages the energy performance of more than 3,000 buildings, equivalent to some 18 million square metres across Europe.

Future prospects: doubling the volume of energy savings generated for its customers

Over the course of its 10 years in business, EFICIA has generated considerable energy savings for more than 3,000 buildings, ranging from large retail stores to logistics warehouses. These energy savings translate into a significant reduction in CO2 emissions, estimated by the company at around 55,000 tonnes avoided in 10 years.

"Today, EFICIA has succeeded in establishing itself as a leader in the energy management market in France. Our commitment to the environment is sincere and total, which is why we are resolutely focused on the future with the goal of doubling the volume of energy savings generated for our customers. We want to help as many companies as possible to turn the obligations of the BACS decree into opportunities and support them in the proper implementation of the Tertiary Decree," says Alric Marc, President and
Founder of EFICIA.

Future projects also include strengthening the company's international presence, developing new sectors, managing water consumption and investing in new technologies.
