Energy transition: a major challenge for businesses

Paris, May 2022 – The latest IPCC report calls on businesses to reduce their energy consumption. At the same time, businesses are seeing their finances severely impacted by rising energy prices and carbon taxes. In this tense environmental and economic climate, where energy efficiency is a key issue, EFICIA, a global and innovative French Tech company, supports businesses wishing to reduce their environmental impact while optimising their productivity. The company takes stock of its activities and announces its short- and long-term ambitions.

Innovative French Tech

Created in 2013 by a young entrepreneur, Alric Marc, EFICIA is one of the most innovative French Tech companies, specialising in energy management for commercial buildings. The company is developing a solution that is still exclusive on the market today: a comprehensive, 100% integrated solution capable of optimising the operation of HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) and lighting equipment in real time using exclusive intelligent algorithms and a team of energy engineers available around the clock. This solution combines technology, software and human expertise.

"When EFICIA was launched, it was the first time that a smart building player had offered to support large companies by outsourcing their entire energy management. Today, we are still the only ones to do so on the French market. We support our customers throughout the entire process of managing the energy of their buildings by optimising energy expenditure through a comprehensive system. Because pointing out problems and making recommendations is not enough, our energy experts work 24/7 alongside our customers on the operation of their facilities to maximise savings, ensure the comfort of building occupants – employees and customers – and guarantee a return on investment," explains Alric Marc, founder and president of EFICIA.

Since its creation, Eficia has raised more than €2 million and expanded internationally with a presence in Spain and Italy. The company manages the energy performance of more than 3,000 buildings across Europe. Over the last 12 months, its expertise has saved around 50,000 MegaWh, equivalent to the consumption of a city such as Biarritz or Orly (~23,000 inhabitants). EFICIA already counts among its clients big names such as Stellantis, Cultura, EDF, Villages Club du Soleil, Darty, Leroy Merlin and many others.

Ambitions

Building on these first years of success and buoyed by a favourable economic climate (ELAN law/tertiary decree, BACS decree, etc.), EFICIA aims to continue its expansion, particularly by strengthening its international development. The company has set itself the goal of quadrupling its workforce by 2025 and expanding its network of partners. Having conquered the retail world, it is now turning its attention to other markets such as local authorities, logistics sites, offices and factories. Technological developments are also underway, with EFICIA currently working on a new, more cross-functional offering and a new service that is exclusive to the market.

"We are proud to be able to support professionals in moving towards more virtuous building practices. EFICIA's success in its early years has been confirmed, and new legislation presents opportunities to help companies accelerate their energy transition while optimising their technical operations and productivity,‘ explains Alric Marc. ’The economic context and global environmental challenges are in line with our development ambitions and point to a bright future for the company."
